Shade is a simple focus app for MacOS. Your privacy is important to us, and we've designed Shade with that in mind.
Data Collection
Shade does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or usage information. The app runs entirely on your device with no external connections.
Screen Recording Permission
Shade requires Screen Recording access to detect window positions on your screen. This permission is used solely to determine where to render the focus overlay. Shade does not capture, record, store, or transmit any visual content from your screen. No screenshots or screen recordings are ever created. Window position data is processed locally in real-time and immediately discarded.
Analytics
Shade does not use any analytics or tracking tools.
Third Parties
Shade does not share any data with third parties because no data is collected.
